Maid jailed two weeks for hurting baby in Toa Payoh flat

A Filipino maid was jailed two weeks on Tuesday (June 30) for fracturing the arm of a seven-month-old girl.
Valencia Gemalyn Garma, 24, was convicted of causing grievous hurt to her employer's child by performing a negligent act.
It happened in a Toa Payoh flat at around 1.30am on Feb 21.
The maid, who was carrying the baby, had pulled her right arm forcefully when she was repositioning her.
Garma had been awakened by the baby's cries and was trying to pacify her.
