Man jailed for slashing friend with penknife
A 43-year-old man who slashed his ex-colleague's face with a penknife was jailed for a year yesterday.
Salam Mohammed, a dishwasher, pleaded guilty to one count of voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon to Mr Rosle Sarpani, 56, a prime mover driver.
Court papers said Mr Rosle and Salam were ex-colleagues who had known each other for eight years.
On July 15, Salam's wife asked him to remove her name from the unit they were living in.
Even though they were undergoing divorce proceedings, Salam was shocked by her request and believed Mr Rosle had instigated it.
Salam also claimed that Mr Rosle was having an affair with his wife and that Mr Rosle owed him money.
The next day, Salam went to Pasir Panjang Terminal and waited at the carpark for Mr Rosle to finish work.
At 7.40pm, Salam saw Mr Rosle, approached him and punched his face before slashing him with the penknife.
