Man tasered, arrested at MRT station
A 30-year-old man was tasered at Lavender MRT station by a police officer on Monday after he became aggressive.
The New Paper understands that four police officers conducted a check on the man at about 4.30pm, but he subsequently challenged the officers to attack him.
As the police officers inched closer to ask him to comply, the man kicked one of them.
One of his colleagues discharged a taser, an electro-shock weapon, to incapacitate the man for "public safety".
He was arrested for voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from his duty.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force received a call for an ambulance at 5.32pm and the man was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Police investigations are ongoing.
