No change for Amos Yee's bail conditions
Teenager Amos Yee's application to alter his bail conditions were today thrown out by the High Court.
The 16-year-old faces charges of attacking Christianity and transmitting an obscene image.
His lawyers had initially asked that the teen continue to be allowed to post information online, for the bail amount to be lowered and that their client not have to report to a police station daily.
The prosecution agreed to not having Amos report daily to the police, and to lowering his bail.
But on the condition he not put up any more posts on social media.
Defence counsel Alfred Dodwell said his client did not agree to this because going on social media was "like drinking water" to Amos, and imposing the conditions would be taking away a lot from him.
Justice Tay Yong Kwang asked what was so difficult about not posting anything online.
When Mr Dodwell said the younger generation lived their lives online, the judge retorted: "They just have to learn to curb themselves."
Amos' two-day trial is set to begin on Thursday.
