Two dead in horrific e-bike accident

Two men died in an accident last night involving e-bikes.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force told The New Paper on Friday they received a call just before midnight.

They sent two ambulances to West Coast Highway at the junction of Pandan Crescent.

A police spokesman said the accident involved a trailer and three power-assisted bicycles.

A 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two male teenagers, aged 17 and 18, were taken to National University Hospital, said the spokesman.

One had serious injuries, while the other suffered leg injuries.

The 18-year-old later died.

The 34-year-old trailer driver has been arrested for causing death by negligent act. Police are investigating.

Several netizens have posted pictures on Facebook of the incident.
