Police arrest man at Jalan Sultan for stealing watch worth $200,000

A man who stole a luxury watch worth about $200,000 was arrested on Thursday (Sept 3) morning.
The 44-year-old man had allegedly taken the watch, S$2,000 and RM$400 from a locker at a hotel in Orange Grove Road.
The owner of the watch, a 77-year-old man, made a police report at around 3.30pm on Wednesday (Sept 2).
Police officers conducted extensive ground enquiries and managed to identify the suspect.
The thief was arrested at Jalan Sultan and the watch was later recovered.
The suspect will be charged in court on Friday (Sept 4) with theft in dwelling.
If found guilty, he can be jailed for up to seven years and fined.
