Taxi catches fire, spews thick smoke at AMK Ave 5

Passing motorists got a shock when they saw a taxi on fire at Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 at 10.30pm yesterday (Aug 1).
The blue Comfort-Delgro cab was spewing acrid smoke by the side of the road.
Evening daily Lianhe Wanbao said the vehicle was engulfed in flames.
A witness called Christina told Stomp website:
"There was a lot of smoke coming out from the front of the (cab).
"Three firemen were trying to put out the smoke. I also heard some shouting."
A Singapore Civil Defence Force spokesman said officers extinguished the fire and there were no injuries.
The incident caused a minor traffic jam.
