TNP New Face 2016: Hema Chandra
Hema Chandra, 17
Business management student at Nanyang Polytechnic
Hema is a die-hard fan of UK boy band One Direction and she saw them in concert here last March.
She said: “I am really crazy about them. There was a big fat tick on my bucket list after I went for their concert.”
What other kinds of music do you listen to?
I do not have one fixed music genre that I like. I listen to songs according to my mood. That can change from really slow and melodious songs when I am sad to pop and rock genres when I am happy.
Describe one interesting fact about yourself.
Though I may look fierce, I am actually a very fun person to be with. I love to put a smile on other people’s faces and see them happy.
What is your worst habit?
I overthink. I know that it creates unnecessary problems that were not even there in the first place, but it is a habit I have had for a long time and I am trying to change for the better.
What was your favourite subject in school?
Art, as I have always had an interest in drawing.
I even took art as a subject in secondary school and I enjoyed every single bit of it.
What is the most exciting event that happened to you in the past year?
I went on a trip to Boracay, Philippines with my family after my O-level examination last year.
I had so much fun as I had never experienced that sort of resort holiday.
The clear ocean was just one step out of our resort. It was absolutely magical.
