Who are the likely new faces in upcoming election?

When will the coming General Election be held? Who will be fielded and where?

These are some of the questions on people's minds since the electoral boundaries report was released last Friday (July 24).

Speculation is rife that the election will take place in September.

Already, potential new candidates have been spotted at various events.

Nothing is confirmed until Nomination Day, of course.

Here's a look at some of the likely new faces.

Shamsul Kamar​, 43, former head of department in Spectra Secondary School
Political party: People's Action Party
Likely contender in: Aljunied GRC

He will likely take on the role of branch chairman in Kaki Bukit ward, one of five wards in Aljunied GRC, later this month.

He was active in the Kaki Bukit branch from 2006 to 2011 before moving to Nee Soon GRC.

Darryl David​, 44, a deputy director at Temasek Polytechnic and a former TV host
Political party: People's Action Party
Likely contender in: Ang Mo Kio GRC

He has been helping in Dr Lam Pin Min's Sengkang West ward since last year.

He is also understudying veteran Yeo Guat Kwang in Ang Mo Kio GRC.

Henry Kwek, 39, food supply company executive director
Political party: People's Action Party
Likely contender in: Ang Mo Kio GRC

He joined veteran MP Inderjit Singh in Kebun Baru several months ago.

He was previously branch secretary at Law and Foreign Minister K. Shanmugam's Chong Pang ward.

Chee Hong Tat, 42, Second Permanent Secretary for Trade and Industry
Political party: People's Action Party
Likely contender in: Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC
Recently spotted at a party in Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC with MP Hri Kumar Nair

He was chief executive of the Energy Market Authority and principal private secretary to former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew.

Saktiandi Supaat, 42, economist
Political party: People's Action Party
Likely contender in: Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC

He is a grassroots leaders and was formerly the president of the youth wing of self-help group Association of Muslim Professionals.

Chong Kee Hiong, 49, chief executive officer of OUE Hospitality Trust
Political party: People's Action Party
Likely contender in: Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC

He has been a committee member of Bishan East Citizens' Consultative Committee for more than a year.

Daniel Goh, 42, National University of Singapore associate professor and sociologist
Political party: Workers' Party
Likely contender in: East Coast GRC

He is president of the Workers' Party Youth Wing and a member of the party's Central Executive Council. He started helping the party in 2011.

Mr Goh has been helping MP Lee Li Lian with grassroots activities in Punggol East SMC and is secretary of the WP Grassroots Committee.

The Straits Times reported that he may run with Non-Constituency Member of Parliament Gerald Giam in East Coast GRC or alone in Fengshan SMC.

Mr Giam was part of the WP’s East Coast team, which garnered 45.2 per cent of the vote in the 2011 General Election.

Dennis Tan, 44, law firm partner
Political party: Workers' Party
Likely contender in: East Coast GRC

He started volunteering with WP in 2011. He helps out at the Kaki Bukit and Paya Lebar wards of Aljunied GRC. He is vice-chairman of WP's media team.

The Straits Times reported that he may run with Non-Constituency Member of Parliament Gerald Giam in East Coast GRC or alone in Fengshan SMC.

Leon Perera, 44, research and consultancy firm chief executive and former civil servant
Political party: Workers' Party
Likely contender in: East Coast GRC

He has been helping out at MP Chen Show Mao's Paya Lebar ward in Aljunied GRC.

The Straits Times reported that he may run with Non-Constituency Member of Parliament Gerald Giam in East Coast GRC or alone in Fengshan SMC.

Likely contender in: East Coast GRC

He is a member of the Workers' Party Youth Wing's executive committee.

The Straits Times reported that he may run with Non-Constituency Member of Parliament Gerald Giam in East Coast GRC or alone in Fengshan SMC.

She is an activist from PAP Women's Wing and has been a grassroots volunteer for 10 years.

Rahayu Mahzam, 35, former deputy registrar of the Syariah Court
Political party: People's Action Party
Likely contender in: Jurong GRC
Recently spotted in Bukit Batok East with Jurong GRC MP Halimah Yacob

She has volunteered in Tampines West for about a year and recently did so in Bukit Batok East.

She is on the National Library Board and National Youth Fund advisory committee.

Louis Ng, 37, chief executive of the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society
Political party: People's Action Party
Likely contender in: Marine Parade GRC

He joined PAP last year and has been helping out at Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin's Kembangan-Chai Chee ward in Marine Parade GRC.

Before that, he was a grassroots volunteer in the Chong Pang ward in Nee Soon GRC for many years.

He returned to Singapore in 2011 after working abroad and joined WP.

She received the Service Award at the Young PAP Awards in 2004.

Prior to that, he had worked as a labour law compliance assessor for Sears Holdings, the parent company of retail stores such as Sears and Kmart.
