Fire breaks out at Woodlands flat

About 40 residents were evacuated after fire broke out in the bedroom of a fifth-storey unit and spread to the sixth storey of a Woodlands HDB block last night.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted at 8.10pm and sent two fire engines and other vehicles to Block 818, Woodlands Street 82, where three water jets were used to put out the blaze.
There were no reported injuries.
