The haze is back, Singaporeans
It's back, folks.
And no, we're not talking about the Chun Cui He Milk Tea that was recalled a few days ago.
We're talking about every Singaporean's ultimate nightmare - the haze - which returned today (Aug 26).
ABOUT THE HAZE
The National Environment Agency's (NEA) 3-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) was at 198, as of 1pm today.
The PSI is an indication of the general air quality around the island. A higher PSI value means the air is of worse quality.
Singapore's highest ever 3-hour PSI reading was at 401, on June 21, 2013. The reading was considered hazardous and led to N95 masks being sold out all over the island.
The NEA also releases a 1-hour measure for fine particulate matter (PM2.5). As of 1pm, the PM2.5 reading was highest in southern Singapore at 198, and lowest in northern Singapore at 155.
The NEA suggests using the 3-hour PSI and 1-hour PM2.5 mainly as a guide to "adjust your immediate activities".
That means you might want to cancel your evening Pokemon hunting jog tonight.
The sudden onset of the haze this morning (Aug 26) has inspired netizens to take to social media with pictures, rants and jokes.
Some have taken to Twitter, posting pictures of their cloudy view.
