Jailed for filming colleagues changing
A cleaner who used his mobile phone to take videos of his supervisor and a colleague changing was yesterday jailed for six weeks.
It was only by chance that one of his victims spotted a light on the mobile phone and called the police.
Abdul Rahman Ahmad, 49, worked for a cleaning company that assigned him to a mall in Orchard Road.
The cleanerskept their cleaning supplies, equipment and personal belongings in a storeroom in the mall's basement. They would also change into and out of their uniforms there.
At about 10.20pm on Oct 25 last year, Abdul Rahman took his Samsung Note 2 and positioned it behind a shirt on the clothing rack. He then switched on its video recording function and left the storeroom.
About an hour later, his female supervisor entered the storeroom and changed out of her clothes.
Another female cleaner entered the storeroom 10 minutes later.
But as she was undressing, she noticed the light and found the phone.
She grabbed it and reported the matter to her supervisor.
They then viewed the recorded videos and called the police.
Yesterday, Abdul Rahman pleaded guilty to two counts of insulting a woman's modesty, with a similar third charge taken into consideration for sentencing. - Ronald Loh
