This article is more than 12 months old

There was a major traffic jam stretching back several kilometres on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) yesterday after two trailers were involved in an accident.

The crash happened at about 2.40pm near the Kallang-Paya Lebar exit of the PIE, in the direction heading towards Tuas.

The Land Transport Authority posted about the accident on its Twitter page.

By 3pm, traffic had backed up to Bedok North Road, some 6km away.

Three lanes of the PIE were closed to facilitate removal of the vehicles involved in the crash, and motorists were told to stay out of the expressway.
