This article is more than 12 months old

From today, the public entrance to the State Courts Building will be shifted to Upper Cross Street where a new vehicle passenger pick-up and drop-off point has been set up.

Current access to the building via the pick-up and drop-off point outside the Family Justice Courts Building will no longer be available.

State Courts users and visitors walking to the building from People's Park Centre and Chinatown MRT station Exit D can use a new temporary sheltered walkway along Upper Cross Street.

Vehicle access to Havelock Square from Havelock Road and New Market Road was closed yesterday.

For users of the Family Justice Courts, a new pick-up and drop-off point has been established next to the Family Justice Courts Building along New Market Road (opposite Furama City Centre Hotel).

Access to this new pick-up and drop-off point is via Havelock Road.

There is no change to the pedestrian access route to the Family Justice Courts Building.

A State Courts spokesman said the new measures are to facilitate the on-going construction works for the new State Court Towers, which are slated to be operational from 2020. - THE STRAITS TIMES
