This Malaysian-registered white Peugeot burst into flames along the Ayer Rajah Expressway in the direction of the Marine Coastal Expressway at about 10am yesterday.

No one was injured in the blaze, which was put out by officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

SCDF sent a fire engine and one Red Rhino.

It was the second car to catch fire within a day.

On Tuesday, at about 9.10pm, a car caught fire on the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway heading towards the Tampines Expressway, before the Tampines Road exit.
