S'pore Navy ship finds crashed AirAsia jet's fuselage - Ng Eng Hen
A Singapore naval ship - the MV Swift Rescue - has located the fuselage of AirAsia flight QZ8501 in the Java Sea, according to a Facebook post on Wednesday by Singapore Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen.
Dr Ng's post included several images of the wreckage taken by a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) from the Swift Rescue showing a section of the fuselage and parts of a wing.
The Ministry of Defence has informed Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) about the find.
Apart from commending the crew of the Swift Rescue and thanking the Singapore forces involved in the search for their hard work, Dr Ng indicated in the post that he hopes the discovery will help families of the victims find some closure and ease their grief.
