SEPTEMBER 2006

Ms Altantuya Shaariibuu, 28, arrives in Malaysia.

OCT 19, 2006

Some time between 10pm on Oct 19 and 1am on Oct 20, she is killed and her body is blown up with military-grade explosives in a forest in Shah Alam, Selangor.

NOV 15, 2006

Two elite Special Action Forces officers, Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar and Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri, are charged with her murder.

A day later, Mr Abdul Razak Baginda, a prominent political analyst, is charged with abetting her murder.

2008

Mr Abdul Razak is acquitted.

2009

Sirul and Azilah are convicted of Ms Altantuya's murder and sentenced to death by the High Court

2013

Both are freed in a decision by the Court of Appeal.

JAN 13, 2015

The apex Federal Court overturns the 2013 verdict and reinstates the men's death sentences.
