Swiss cyclist survives after plunging down ravine in M'sia
A Swiss cyclist cheated death after plunging down a ravine while cycling with a friend at Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort in Kuala Lumpur.
Resort security said that the incident occurred on Sunday morning (Nov 30) when the cyclist, in his 30s, tumbled after losing control of his bicycle.
Scrambled to help
A police spokesman said a number of cyclists scrambled to help the Swiss.
"They were halfway getting him out of the ravine when Fire and Rescue Department personnel arrived to pull him out. They also got his bicycle out," said the police spokesman.
The victim suffered a broken leg and was taken to hospital.
Security guards at the resort said the cycling track became slippery after heavy rain on Saturday night.
