Thief in KL steals car, gets hit by another car, and breaks leg during escape
Mission failed.
A car thief had barely warmed the seat of his stolen ride when he crashed into a Toyota and was chased by the victim until he fell into a drain in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
According to police, the car owner, a 35-year-old IT technician, and his wife had parked their car at a McDonald's to have breakfast on Sunday morning (Feb 8).
When the car owner came out, he found his car missing.
A police spokesman said: "The victim then saw the suspect, a salesman, driving the stolen car away. He didn’t make it far though.
Gave chase
"The suspect drove for about 50m before he was hit by a Toyota. The IT technician said he saw the suspect getting out of the wrecked car and he gave chase."
The pursuit ended when the thief broke his leg after falling into a 3m drain.
He was later arrested and sent to hospital for treatment.
The case is being investigated for vehicle theft.
