TNP Bonus Challenge winner: Sunday columns are my favourite

Every Sunday, marketer Jessica Chow looks forward to a good laugh.

And for the past few years, The New Paper on Sunday's humourists Neil Humphreys and S. M. Ong have been a steady source of entertainment for her.

"I'm a big fan. I read their columns week after week without fail," said Mrs Chow, 47.

She was unable to hide the excitement in her voice when asked to describe the duo.

"Neil Humphreys is really funny and witty and his columns always make me laugh. S. M. Ong's humour is strange and warped, but just as entertaining," said Mrs Chow in a phone interview.

Although the Sunday paper might be her favourite of the week, it was Wednesday's edition that gave her another reason to love TNP.

Yesterday, she won $100 in TNP's Bonus Challenge, after she got the final number she needed to win the prize. And her daughter, Ashley, 14, was also thrilled.

Said Mrs Chow: "I buy the papers and every Monday, I leave the TNP Bonus Card on the table at home. Every day after school, my daughter would match the numbers to see if we won."

And when they did, said Mrs Chow, "Ashley's first reaction was, 'Oh, we won?'"

Her daughter's disbelief stemmed from past experience with the Bonus Challenge, as there have been several times when they needed just one more number to win, she added.

Mrs Chow said the $100 will go to Ashley because "she's earned it".

A second winner yesterday was Mr Quah Tzu Seng, who also won $100 in the Bonus Challenge.
