Train services on North South Line disrupted, passengers transferred to another train
SMRT train services were disrupted at about 2.45pm today after one of the trains travelling from Yew Tee station to Kranji encountered issues on the track.
Passengers on board the train told The New Paper (TNP) it jerked and suddenly stopped.
Air conditioning in the carriages was also shut down.
Commuters told TNP passengers were transferred across the tracks to another train about half an hour later.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the incident shortly after 3pm and its spokesman confirmed there was no injuries.
SMRT had tweeted at about 6.50pm there was no train service from Choa Chu Kang to Kranji and free shuttle service was available between these two stations.
