UPDATE: Paterson Road now open.

The stretch of Paterson Road which was closed due to an oil spillage has fully reopened, said a press statement from the Singapore Police Force.

The road closure at Paterson Road was between between Orchard Road and Orchard Boulevard; in front of Orchard Ion, towards Kim Seng Road.

Traffic Police have established the identity of the driver involved in the incident. He is assisting in police investigations.

Note: The yellow line indicates the stretch of road that was closed.


UPDATE (2PM): The traffic police is looking into the cause of an oil spillage that occurred along Paterson Road this morning.

A stretch of Paterson Road outside Ion Orchard (towards River Valley Road) is now closed to all motorists except authorised vehicles.

The affected stretch of road is currently being resurfaced.

Road users are advised to avoid the following roads leading to Paterson Road and traffic delays are expected at:

  • Scotts Road
  • Orchard Road
  • Tanglin Road

Paterson Road (between Orchard Road and Orchard Boulevard, towards Kim Seng Road) has been closed since 3.48am today due to an oil spillage.

The affected area is in front of Orchard Ion.

The Land Transport Authority tweeted:

The road closure will be in place till further notice.

Motorists are advised to avoid the stretch of road closure, as there is heavy traffic build-up near Newton Circus and Tanglin Road towards the direction of Orchard Road.
