Woman who suffered 96 per cent burns learns to ski again

She was given a one in 1,000 chance of surviving after suffering 96 per cent burns during a horrific bus crash on the French Alps.

But against all odds, Miss Catrin Pugh, 20, pulled through.

Now the Briton is determined not to let the incident kill her love for skiing.

In April last year, Miss Pugh was in a bus travelling down the mountain after completing a stint at a hotel there during the ski season.

The vehicle crashed and burst into flames, trapping her inside. She was one of 32 people injured in the accident.

Mirror reported that she was put on life support for 90 days after the crash and a medically-induced coma for three months. She has since undergone more than 200 operations.

In the past few weeks, she has learnt to walk again. More astonishingly, she has taken up skiing again.

Talk about facing your demons.

She plans to go skiing again later this year, reported Mirror.

Mail Online reported her as saying: "I'm going to be scared, I know that. I'd never go in a coach again. It would have to be someone I trust to drive me. I'll try and focus on something else, or listen to music.

"It's something I've got to get over if I want to ski again. I love skiing and the accident hasn't stopped me from wanting to ski."
