Two celebrities were arrested in an anti-prostitution sting operation in Jakarta.

They are a 27-year-old actress and a 22-year-old beauty pageant finalist, the Jakarta Globe reported.

Both women were busted in a room at the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski in Central Jakarta on Thursday night in a state of undress.

Also nabbed were the actress' manager and a fixer, the report said. The client was an undercover officer.

VICTIMS

Head of the National Police's vice unit Umar Fana, said the two celebrities are being treated as human-trafficking victims.

He said they will be placed in the custody of the social services department to undergo "moral guidance" and training, "just like other prostitutes".

The two men face charges of pimping.

Mr Umar said the sting was in the works for several weeks.

It was based on a lead gleaned from the investigation of Robby Abbas, a celebrity make-up artist.

He was sentenced to 16 months in prison in October for pimping out B-list celebrities.

In Thursday's sting, the manager and the other man quoted the undercover officer a price of 65 million rupiah (S$6,600) for the actress and 50 million rupiah for the pageant finalist for what is referred to as a "short time," or a three-hour session.

A lawyer for the actress confirmed she was caught naked in the hotel, but claimed she had gone there for a business meeting and was changing her clothes when she was arrested.
