First MH370 claim settled
The Malaysian government and Malaysia Airlines have reached an out-of-court settlement with the family of a man who was on flight MH370, a lawyer said yesterday.
It is the first legal claim linked with the plane's disappearance, AFP reported.
Mr Jee Jing Hang was one of 239 passengers on board the aircraft enroute from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing when it vanished on March 8 last year.
On behalf of his two young sons, Mr Jee's family brought a lawsuit against Malaysia Airlines last October for breach of contract for failing to bring its passengers to its destination.
The family also brought claims against the Malaysian government for negligence.
