Malaysian cop slashed by masked men with swords
A police lance corporal in Terengganu, Malaysia, was slashed by two masked assailants, leaving him with multiple wounds on his head, body and an almost severed left wrist.
Besut police chief Superintendent Khaled Che Lah said the policeman, Tengku Mohd Nafeery Tengku Ramli, 41, had visited a friend's house at about 11.30pm on Thursday, The Star reported.
"He was sitting in the hall. Two masked men stormed inside and started attacking him with swords.
"His friend and family members were in the house at the time of the attack," Supt Khaled said, adding the assailants fled in a car.
Supt Khaled said the victim, who was rushed to the hospital, was semi-conscious, but in a stable condition.
He said police have yet to establish the motive, adding that a hunt was on for the two men.
