Man leaves mum, a stroke patient, at funeral parlour

This article is more than 12 months old

A man left his 58-year-old mother, a stroke patient for the last 18 years, at a funeral parlour in Kaoshiung, Taiwan, last week.

Malaysia's Chinese newspaper Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported that the man took this extreme step after his father, who has been taking care of her, was hospitalised.

Workers were shocked to discover the woman — dressed in burial clothes — still alive about five hours after being left at the funeral parlour.

The woman was later admitted to the hospital and police managed to trace the 28-year-old son.

The son claimed that his 81-year-old father had asked him “to make arrangements” for his mother because he could no longer take care of her.

He said he could not object to his father’s wish.
