Mum tells son’s girlfriend: You're too old for him
A 42-year-old Malaysian woman flew to Taiwan to look for her young Taiwanese boyfriend, only to be stopped dead in her tracks on arrival by his possessive mother.
Sin Chew Daily reported that the mother of five, known only as Li, decided to go to Taipei recently to meet her 24-year-old boyfriend, whom she had been courting through the Internet for about a year.
On Saturday, when she arrived at the airport, the man was waiting for her.
But also with him was his mother, who went on to to scold the woman, The Star reported.
“Do you know how old you are and how old my son is?” she shouted.
Ms Li’s boyfriend, known only as Mr Wu, then left the airport with his mother.
With only NT$1,000 (S$43) with her, Ms Li then sought help from the police and managed to get back to Malaysia the next day.
According to Ms Li, she decided to go to Taiwan after Mr Wu offered to help her get a job there.
Despite leaving her alone in the airport, Mr Wu called her later and promised to go to Malaysia after he had saved enough money.
