Street stripper model to take mental health test
The part-time model and spa worker created a stir online in April by stripping in Kuala Lumpur's Petaling Street.
Now, Persana Avril Sollunda, 32, has been ordered to undergo a month-long psychiatric evaluation.
Sollunda was a no-show at court in KL on Friday.
Her lawyer said that she was unwell, producing a letter from Sungai Buloh Hospital, where Sollunda has been receiving psychiatric treatment since May 5.
He added she had been temporarily discharged from the hospital on Thursday to stay at her brother’s house.
The magistrate ordered Sollunda be warded at Hospital Bahagia in Perak for observation and psychiatric treatment.
It was decided that if Sollunda failed to turn up at the hospital by the end of Friday, her bail would be forfeited and a warrant issued for her arrest.
The psychiatric report on her will be produced when the case is brought up again on July 2.
On April 28, Sollunda pleaded not guilty to committing an obscene act in public.
She had been filmed having an argument over the payment for chicken rice. The argument ended when Sollunda stripped topless and then walked down the street bare-chested.
The Sabahan was released from Kajang Prison after RM7,000 ($2,579) bail was posted by family members on May 5.
On the same day, she was taken by relatives to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
If convicted, she could be jailed for up to three months or fined or both.
