Woman, 70, beats bus driver until he cries
It was an innocent mistake that many have made on public transport.
A 70-year-old woman got on the wrong bus in China.
But then she demanded that the bus driver let her alight immediately.
The driver refused, saying he would only pull up at the next bus stop and not earlier. He was also unwilling to help because of her bad attitude.
Angered by his response, the elderly woman started whacking him with her walking stick and shouted at other passengers who tried to intervene.
The driver, whose surname is Liu, then stopped the bus and phoned for help.
When the elderly woman finally got off the bus, she threw a rubbish bin at him.
Closed-circuit television cameras on the vehicle captured the incident, which took place at around 11am on June 27 in Fujian province.
It showed the driver crying at his seat after the elderly woman had left the scene.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Licheng Public Security Bureau said on Saturday (July 4) that the elderly woman will be detained for seven days and fined 200 yuan (S$43).
