Woman who killed sons, 3 and 5, believed to be suffering from depression
A woman who allegedly killed her two young sons was remanded for seven days at a hospital by the Malaysian court.
The 35-year-old is believed to be mentally unstable and suffer from depression.
She will be remanded till Dec 8 to assist in the investigation of the murder of her two children, aged three and five, said a police spokesman.
The tragic incident took place on Tuesday (Dec 1) at a three-storey house in the town of Sungai Petani in Kedah.
Kedah CID chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nashir Ya said: "Her husband is working in Singapore. The boys’ grandfather returned home at about 3pm and was shocked to find them dead with their throats slit on the ground floor of the house.
"One of the children also had a slash wound on his wrist."
The woman, who had a cut on her left wrist, was found in another room. She was arrested.
A weapon, believed to be a vegetable knife, was found in the house.
