Cafe's rocket launcher gimmick shot down
Malaysian police have seized a vehicle resembling a mobile military rocket launcher used as a gimmick to promote a cafe.
Sepang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Aziz Ali said they were alerted by the public at 11.30am on Tuesday that the vehicle was seen around the Cyberjaya area, The Star reported.
ACP Abdul Aziz said police tracked the vehicleto the Multimedia University and found that it had been modified to resemble an armed forces vehicle equipped with two rocket launchers.
He said officers arrested the two men inside and seized the vehicle.
The duo, aged 28 and 24, were released on bail on Tuesday night, the New Straits Times reported.
ACP Abdul Aziz added that the owner of the vehicle claimed he was using the vehicle as a gimmick for his cafe business.
Initial investigations showed the vehicle had been modified into a food truck to sell coffee.
"The vehicle was not a military vehicle, and the rockets were not real as well," he added.
