Snake bites woman on face

A tourist was compensated after getting bitten on her face by a snake at a snake show in Phuket.

The 29-year-old unnamed Chinese tourist accepted a 135,000 baht (S$5,350) compensation from the show organisers.

The woman had visited a shop run by Phuket Bio Technology on Sunday ( Jan 10).

The shop sells medicinal herbs and also provides free snakes shows.

After the show, the snake handler offered tourists the chance to have their pictures taken with the python, reported the Bangkok Post.

The Chinese woman had leaned over the barrier separating the audience and the snakes when the snake suddenly bit her on the nose.

A video of the woman getting bitten by the snake was shared online.

 

According to Bangkok Post, the woman received five stitches on her nose.

As a result of the incident, the director of provincial tourism and sports office will call for a meeting among business operators in Phuket to lay down measures to prevent the a similar incident from happening again.
