Over the past 25 years, you may have noticed that at The New Paper, we like to do things a little differently.
Unconventional, controversial, creative, sensational - we have been called many things.
And true to form, when it came to launching our new digital self, we decided that the road-less-travelled would be the more exciting ride.
We first threw a group of plugged-in 20- and 30-somethings into a room and asked them to come up with a concept.
"What would you like to have in a news application? And, more importantly, what would keep you coming back?"
Their answer?
Make it fun and interactive.
And give the news that I would want to share with my friends. And while you are at it, allow me to send in my own content, play games and redeem rewards.
Sounds easy?
After eight months of brainstorming, tweaking, trashing and testing, we think we have put together what the new digital generation wants.
From today, you will be able to download The New Paper App, available on both iOS and Android platforms.
For the next two weeks, even the Premium content on the app, which includes a full, interactive version of our print newspaper, will be free.
Each time you read one of our stories, you will earn points. Comment on something - earn another point. Tip us off on a breaking story that gets published and you get a whopping 50 points.
Put all the points together and you can redeem NTUC FairPrice and Manhattan Fish Market vouchers, with more exciting redemptions to come.
Even the news you read on our app will be of a different flavour.
Besides the exclusives TNP is known for, we hope to bring you the best news, sports and entertainment stories from around the world, accompanied by videos and pictures to captivate you.

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD THE NEW PAPER APP?
Go to tnp.sg/app. Or search for "The New Paper" on the Apple app store (for iPhone) or the Google Play store (for Android).
HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR AN ACCOUNT?
Once you enter the app, click on New User to sign up for a new account or connect with your existing Facebook account.
After you have verified your account, you can proceed to log in.
WHY SHOULD I SIGN UP FOR AN ACCOUNT?
Having an account will allow you to gain access to the rewards system.
Every time you read, comment on, like and share stories, you will earn points, which you can redeem for rewards.
HOW DO I USE THE APP?
Check the news at a glance with Our Top 10 picks, or get the latest in news, entertainment and sports in our free section.
From now until June 23, you will also be able to access all our daily print stories in the premium Print+ and Mobile Edition sections of the app.
CAN I SUBMIT TIP-OFFS USING THE APP?
Yes, you can. Simply open the menu and tap the Tip Off button beside the search bar.
