RUNSI Patro (above) achieved a New Face first on Saturday. At 14, she became the youngest girl ever to make it through to Round 2 of the modelling competition.

This year, The New Paper New Face lowered the entry age to 14.

The road to New Face 2013 starts today. Eleven of The New Paper New Face 2012’s alumni will hit Orchard Road at 1pm to search for this year’s potential contestants. Those picked will move straight to the closed-door audition, taking them one step closer to the title.

New Face takes her to big screen

WHEN she joined the New Paper New Face competition in 2011, she was a freelance actress hoping for some publicity.

Atikah Suhaime had graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a diploma in media and communication in 2010.

From New Face to TV host

SHE is the host of TV singing competition The Final 1 on Channel 5.

But it was a totally different Vanessa Vanderstraaten when she was a finalist of The New Paper New Face in 2009.

She had a mohawk and barely knew how to walk in heels.
