Best Totheligndelivers at $16

Last-start winner BEST TOTHELIGN was the unanimous choice of The New Paper panel of tipsters, with Tan Thean Loon making him his best bet (below).

The Shane Baertschiger-trained four-year-old Kiwi-bred duly obliged under apprentice MM Firdaus to pay a juicy $16 for a win.

The bay gelding moved up from a handy fourth to get up and beat Top Gun by three-quarter lengths in the final of 10 events.

Firdaus also took the preceding race on the Cliff Brown-trained $80 outsider SINGING DUNE, who led all the way over 1,900m.
