Team SunMoon take top prize
Edge Golf come in second while defending champions Boustead move to third spot.
AFTER three months of enjoyable golfing, networking, camaraderie and fun, the 2016 Business Times Corporate Golf League concluded on Friday with the final round being played out on Tanah Merah Country Club’s (TMCC) Garden Course.
More than 120 golfers teed off under blue skies for the final showdown before gathering together for a superb sit-down banquet dinner in TMCC’s Garden Banquet Room.
SunMoon Food’s six-point lead over Edge Golf after the fifth round at the end of August proved beneficial but they did not let up with a magnificent total of 541 stableford points. They not only won from 2012-2014 in the Competitive Category but also won the social category last year.
Coming in second in the Competitive Category was Edge Golf with 533 points, with defending champions Boustead in third place with 525.
The winner of Category A was SPH Swinging Scribes with 483.
In his speech, Singapore Press Holdings’ deputy chief executive officer Patrick Daniel thanked Audi Singapore managing director Jeff Mannering for his continued support over the years as well as the many other sponsors involved with the League, including main sponsor Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts.
The Business Times’ associate editor Vikram Khanna also spoke about many of the events lined up for the newspaper’s 40th anniversary this year.
