Keep a lookout for a Supersonicsurprise
Keep an eye on SUPERSONICSURPRISE when you next see him at the races. With just a fourth placing to show from three starts, he looks ready to seriously start paying for his feed.
The youngster from Theo Kieser's yard (right) looked to be in his element when winning his trial at Kranji yesterday morning.
Partnered by KB Soo, the chestnut with a name which does suggest pure speed, was out in a flash and, to his credit, was never headed over the sharp 1,000m.
The three-year-old had a "so-so" debut in August when sixth to Touch Me Not over the 1,100m. He had two more starts but both were mediocre outings. Indeed, both times saw him hold midfield spots throughout.
However, he showed in his trial that he did possess early speed and, if his connections decide to go with a front-running race in his next start, who knows? He just might break through for his first win.
TRIAL 1 (ORT)
1 All Volksraad Go (C Brown)
2 Arctic Roll (MM Firdaus)
3 Rahul (B Vorster)

6 Caro Ina (N Juglall)
7 Wolverine (L Allpress)
Margins and time: Nk, shd, 1½, 2¼, ¾, ns (1min 02.77sec)
Wolverine was slow out of the gates. Dominy jumped best but was quickly reeled in and sat third as Incandescent and Rahul disputed the early lead. Also up there at that stage were Arctic Roll and All Volksraad Go.
Incandescent led when they passed the 600m. Arctic Roll stayed glued to him while Incandescent made it a line of three. That was how they turned for the run home.
With the finish in sight, Corey Brown asked All Volksraad Go for an effort and, racing on the outside of Arctic Roll and Rahul, he stretched his neck out to win a nice trial. Arctic Roll held on for second.
TRIAL 2 (ORT)

2 Lord Darlington (MM Firdaus)
3 Mr Fantastic (Vorster)

A good start by all. Lord Darlington dictated things in those early stages. He was followed by Time Odyssey and Keltic Karma. The chasing pack included Royal Storm, Ming's Boy and Mr Fantastic.
Heading for the 600m and Lord Darlighton had Time Odyssey at his withers. Keltic Karma was next, followed by Mr Fantastic. Time Odyssey took over when they turned for the run home. But he couldn't shake of stablemate Lord Darlington. The pair raced tight to the line with Time Odyssey eased down to win by a neck. Lord Darlington took second, almost two lengths ahead of Mr Fantastic.

Rio De Janiero was first to turn. Rathausglockel kept plugging on. Then came Flying Winner and Zahir.
But it was all about Rathausglockel and Rio De Janiero. With 150m to go, R Rueven took Rathausglockel to the front and easily beat Rio De Janiero who, in fairness, wasn't asked to do anything over the concluding stages.
TRIAL 4 (TEST)
1 Supersonicsurprise (Soo)
2 Keen Dragon (Allpress)
3 Makkura (Brown)
4 Deluge (Shafiq)
5 Mr Dreyfuss (Beasley)

Heading away from the 600m and Supersonicsurprise maintained a healthy lead from Keen Dragon. Deluge and Makkura tried to keep up. It was still Supersonicsurprise in front when they angled out for that run home. Keen Dragon, ridden by Lisa Allpress, kept him busy. With 100m to travel, Supersonicsurprise kept up a brisk gallop to beat Keen Dragon by two and a quarter lengths. Makkura came on to take third.

Kiwi Karma was off nicely and led early from Reach For The Sun, Straighttothepoint and Double Star. Bullet Fly and Boomerang Deluxe were also in that mix. As they made the turn and headed for the 600m, Reach For The Sun took over the role of pacemaker. Bullet Fly made a forward move to slot in second. Kiwi Karma was held together nearest the paint.
Into the straight and Reach For The Sun had to sing for his supper. Bullet Fly and Kiwi Karma came at him, as did Boomerang Deluxe and Golden Sand Steed. However, Reach For The Sun had just enough in the tank the hold off the chasing pack.

1 Duty Free (I Saifudin)
2 Eclair Sensation (H Amin)
3 Bellus Wonder (Powell)
4 Soul Commander (Shafiq)
5 Bordeaux (Rueven)
6 Cheyenne Warrior

Bellus Wonder jumped best and led from Bordeaux, Soul Commander, Duty Free and Eclair Sensation. Those were the positions when they mad that first turn.
As they cleared the 600m, Bellus Wonder continued to lead. Bordeaux stayed with him, as did Eclair Sensation, Soul Commander and Duty Free, who fanned out wide.
With the finish in sight, Bellus Wonder, Eclair Sensation, Bordeaux and Soul Commander were in a battle of their own when Duty Free mounted a charge wide out.
Gaining with every stride, he swept to the front close home to beat Eclair Sensation by one and a half lengths.

Happy Princess was smartly away but Benji's Empire was in a mighty big hurry and he led them at the 750m mark. Machfive, Wilkinson and Black Magic were not out of it.
As they approached the top of the straight, Benji's Empire was in control. Wilkinson, Machfive, Happy Princess and Black Magic were not out of it.
But it was all about Benji's Empire. Kept on a good hold by Harry Kasim, he went to the line one and a quarter lengths ahead of Wilkinson, who was pushed on. Black Magic came on for third.

7 Aureus (Allpress)
8 Global Focus (Azhar)
Margins and time: ¾, ns, 1¼, nk, ¾, 1½, 3¾ (1:01.86)
Mr Connery looked to be smartly into stride but D'Don and Bourbon Captain soon charged to the front. Poseidon was fourth, just ahead of Ami Eleven. Winfrey watched them go. Approaching the 600m and Bourbon Captain broke clear to lead by two from Mr Connery and Poseidon.
As they fanned out for that run to the line, Bourbon Captian had a winning break on Poseidon and Mr Connery. D'Don and Ami Eleven tried to crash the party. Just when Bourbon Captain was shouted the winner, he began to shorten strides and was caught by the chasing pack. Poseidon made a lunge for the tape and eventually took the trial.
