Newitt wants to stick to Absolutely

Jockey Craig Newitt, who was savouring his first Group success in Singapore, would love to be kept on ABSOLUTELY when the Singapore Four-Year-Old Challenge comes round.

The series kicks off with the Group 2 Stewards' Cup over 1,400m on May 31.

"He's for sure one of the best four-year-olds going around now and I would love to stay with him," said the Australian, a multiple-Group 1 winner back home.

"The plan was to ride him quiet today as he was first-up from a break and drew a wide gate. He did quite easy at the back and I was only hoping he could round them up.

"He actually surprised us a bit in the way he rounded them up in the end. He is going the right way and has a lot of upsides to him.

"It's a big thrill to win my first feature race in Singapore and I hope it's the first of many."

Absolutely has now brought his record to an impressive four wins and four placings from nine starts for stakes earnings of more than $260,000 for Jerry Sung of Auric Stable.

Absolutely was the second leg of a double for Newitt, who also took the opening race on the Stephen Gray-trained ROSEGOLD.
