POWERNOVA can be safely followed in his next start
KRANJI BARRIER TRIALS
POWERNOVA's got great form figures. 4-1-4-3-4. Five starts. One win. Never off the board. And he's not even shown us his best.
From Bruch Marsh's yard, the four-year-old youngster would have gone into many notebooks after turning in a good run in his trial at Kranji yesterday morning.
Jumping cleanly, he was content to stay third behind the pacesetter, Gold Dancer.
It was only when they had less than 200m to go that he made a forward move. Gaining on the leaders, he swept to the front close home and was never headed.
Powernova's solitary win was in June and in the last five months he has never finished further than fourth. He had issues in his last start and his jockey reported that his mount wasn't striding out freely.
Powernova is better than his form numbers suggest and he definitely warrants plenty of attention the next time he gets a race start.
