LAM EDITION: Trainer D Hill, when questioned regarding the significant increase in the body weight of Lam Edition, said that the horse had returned from a lengthy spell and had built up significantly. He added that the horse had recently trialled and was fit to start. A pre-race veterinary examination passed Lam Edition fit to race.
LUCKY GENERAL: Slow to begin.
MORRIS: Tendency to lay inwards, obliging his rider to stop riding and straighten his mount on a number of occasions. Apprentice WL Tan reported that Morris was not striding out freely.
CELESTIAL STAR: Laid outwards.
ALL MY WAY: Crowded; returned having cast his off-fore plate.
ZAC HEAVEN: Jumped awkwardly outwards.
HIDDEN VENTURE: Difficult to settle; made contact; raced wide; brushed; laid outwards.

An objection was lodged by apprentice S Noh, the rider of second placegetter, Hidden Venture, against Lucky Dapper, being declared the winner, on the grounds of interference over the final 100m. After deliberation and considering all of the evidence, the panel of stewards felt that near the 100m mark, Lucky Dapper shifted outwards slightly momentarily, brushing Hidden Venture. Thereafter, Hidden Venture and Lucky Dapper laid outwards. Taking into account the interference and the manner in which both horses finished, the stewards felt that the interference had not affected the result of the race. The objection was overruled.
