ANGSANA: Difficult to be loaded into the barrier. Trainer S Yeoh, when questioned regarding the significant decrease in Angsana's body weight, said that the gelding had returned from a spell and had trialled on a number of occasions. He felt that the horse was fit to start. A pre-race veterinary examination passed the grey fit to race.

BRIGHT GENERAL: Slow to begin after jumping awkwardly; raced wide.

CHINESE TYCOON: Steadied when racing; held up near the 400m mark.
