Team Thailand rule DBS Regatta

Team Thailand made a clean sweep at the DBS Marina Regatta yesterday.

The National Team Thailand (men's) took top spot in the International Premier Open with 30 points, followed by National Team Indonesia with 23 points.

Their women's team also came first in the International Premier Women category with 28 points, while the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation finished a close second with 27 points.

Singapore's men and women's national teams performed creditably, clinching the bronze medal in their respective categories, with 22 points and 20 points respectively.

The two-day event attracted some 10,000 spectators and more than 2,000 athletes from 140 dragon boat teams from countries in the region, including Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand.

The tournament celebrated its conclusion with a display of fireworks and LED dragon kites against the skyline of Marina Bay yesterday.
