UCI: Flesh-coloured cycling kit 'unacceptable'
A Columbian women's cycling team kit was so controversial, it caused Facebook to freak out over our initial post and forced us to take it down from our site.
Now, the International Cycling Union (UCI) has waded in and branded the Bogota Humana team's flesh-coloured kit as "unacceptable", promising an investigation.
Photographs of the team in the red and yellow kit, which features a tackily-placed nude-coloured mesh around the lower torso area, were taken at the Tour of Tuscany and have been circulating around the Internet.
The ensuing media storm has prompted UCI president Brian Cookson to act as he tweeted:
