Apprentice Salim out of ICU
Apprentice jockey Salim Yusoff was transferred from the Intensive Care Unit to a normal ward after his condition improved yesterday, a day after he fell from CANNON KING near the 150 mark in Race 3.
The 27-year-old Malaysian was sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital where he was placed under observation overnight.
Two scans on his head and spine revealed that Salim had some bleeding in the brain as well as a hematoma (swelling), but luckily, no other fractures or injuries.
An inquiry into the reasons for Cannon King falling and dislodging Salim will be held.
A veterinary examination on Cannon King revealed that the horse returned with right frontal sinus trauma.
