Arsenal sign Colombian keeper David Ospina
The Gunners have welcomed a new member to Emirates for an undisclosed fee.
New signing David Ospina was the impressive goalkeeper who had a hand in leading Colombia to the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Brazil.
Arsenal's manager Arsene Wenger, 64, told his club's official website: "David Ospina is an excellent goalkeeper, with good experience and a proven record of performing with Nice and Colombia.
"He will add strength to our squad and we are very pleased that he will be joining us."
BBC reported that the Nice coach, Claude Puel confirmed Ospina's move on Saturday (July 26).
Puel said "it's confirmed, yes" and added that "it's a good affair for Arsenal because he's a very good player."
According to the BBC, Wenger had earlier suggested that Ospina, 25, could displace Wojciech Szczesny as the club's first-choice goalkeeper once a deal was completed.
The Arsenal official website says that the transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
