Bellamy's reputation to blame: Solskjaer

Cardiff forward Craig Bellamy, who was banned for three games for violent conduct, is a victim of his reputation, said the Bluebirds' manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Bellamy (right) was charged by the Football Association after appearing to catch Swansea's Jonathan de Guzman with his arm in last weekend's derby.

On the same day, Manchester City's Yaya Toure kicked Norwich striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel at Carrow Road, but escaped punishment.

Said Solskjaer: "I think Craig's reputation has gone before him... It is a little collision, there is no violence in it, but we just have to accept it, we don't want it to drag.

"You look at what they did not give Toure and what they did with Craig and you are very disappointed."

Bellamy accepted the charge, which ruled him out of yesterday's 0-0 draw with Aston Villa. He will also miss the FA Cup tie with Wigan and a league match against Hull. - Wire Services.
