Cash rewards for swimmers who break national or meet records at NAG

Swimmers who break a national or meet record at the Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships (NAG) can expect to receive cash rewards.

The unprecedented move came after Enterprise Sports Group (ESG) secured homegrown financial institution Singapura Finance as the title sponsor of the NAG for the next three years.

Singapura Finance is the first corporate entity to offer rewards for swimmers who set national and meet records.

Said Jamie Teo, chief executive officer of Singapura Finance, in a statement released on Friday: “We are very pleased to be the title sponsor of the Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships as we aim to help develop the championships into an exciting national event.

“The event is one of the highlights of the local swimming calendar, and attracts participants from a broad cross section, from children as young as eight years old right up to adults.

“We hope to empower and inspire everyone in the swimming community to dream big and achieve the very best results that they are capable of.

“We believe that ESG and the SSA are moving in the right direction as they continue to develop the swimming community, and we are honoured to be able to play a vital role in this endeavour and to continue growing the sport together.”

The Singapura Finance 46th Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships will be held from March 13 to 22 at the OCBC Aquatic Centre at the Singapore Sports Hub.
