Another injury?! Welbeck a doubt for England opener
It seems like footballers are dropping like flies ahead of this World Cup.
Danny Welbeck became the latest crock to hobble into a star-studded treatment room when he pulled up during an England training session.
The Manchester United forward had reportedly started the session at the Three Lions' training base in Urca, Rio de Janeiro with his right thigh heavily strapped before limping off.
The 23-year-old was supposedly earmarked by Roy Hodgson to nullify the metronomic influence of Andrea Pirlo when England start their Group D campaign against Italy on Sunday (6am, Singapore time). His departure leaves the door open for Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling.
England are already racing to get Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fit for the group stages and while Welbeck hasn't been a terribly prolific scorer for his club, he has been one of the main focal points of Hodgson's attack.
