Chelsea agree deal for Ashley Cole's replacement
Chelsea have reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of left-back Filipe Luis.
The deal, which is reportedly worth £20 million ($42.6m), comes shortly after the Blues completed the signing of another Atletico player in Diego Costa.
The 28-year-old Brazilian will replace Ashley Cole, who has joined AS Roma after being released by Chelsea.
Luis becomes Jose Mourinho's third major signing for the new season following the arrivals of Costa and ex-Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.
During a four-year spell at the Vicente Calderon Stadium, Luis made 180 appearances for the Rojiblancos and helped the club to their first La Liga title since 1996 as well as the Champions League final last season.
While he did not feature for Brazil at the World Cup, the defender was on the Selecao's stand-by list and has four caps to his name.
